Shepherding with 1:1 Bible Study: Basics and Best Practices
Description
Bible study and shepherding have been the central practice in the UBF ministry. What are the rationales of them? The Great Commission (Mt 28:16-20) surely answers this question. Jesus’ life and ministry on earth was to find out the lost and give life to them as the Good Shepherd. The Apostles’ life and ministry (Peter, Paul, John, etc.) was that of a shepherd like Jesus. In obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ, we have also engaged in these practices diligently. Now is the time to renew our obedience and Biblical bases and practices in the midst of the COVID 19 and personal, family and national difficulties.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, each student may renew his or her love of Jesus (Jn 21), witness to Jesus’ 1:1 and shepherding (Jn 4), learn to make Jesus-centered Bible study materials (Jn 5), hear and know Jesus as the Good Shepherd (Jn 10), know his sheep very personally (Jn 10) and lastly shepherd Jesus’ sheep together with other church members (Eph 4). We envision that each student may grow to become a catalyst for the revival of 1:1 Bible study and shepherding in their own chapter and country.
