The Vision of God's Kingdom through the Book of Acts

The Vision of God's Kingdom through the Book of Acts course image
Description

Our Lord Jesus said, “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near” (Rev 1:3). In this course, we will read together the book of Acts in order to see the vision of the kingdom of God. For the past several years, the instructor has experienced the work of God in the hearts of many UBF second gen, particularly those in Europe, through several group Bible reading sessions. They were encouraged and moved by the word of God and by the interactions with their peers as they shared their own thoughts and experiences based on the word of God. Based on this experience, we will follow the similar format to read the book of Acts. First, after a brief introductory session where participants may become comfortable with one another, we will read the scripture, taking turns, for about 40 minutes. Afterwards, each person would freely share his or her thoughts on the word of God and also ask questions. This would take about 30 minutes. We will end each session with a prayer. Here is a schedule we will follow:
* First session: Acts 1-7
* Second session: Acts 8-14
* Third session: Acts 15-21
* Fourth session: Acts 22-28
Reading the scripture together as a group has several advantages and benefits over reading it alone. We can develop a habit of reading the word of God regularly every week and sharing the grace of God we received. We should read and meditate on the word of God on our own everyday. We should also come together as a group to read the word of God together to strengthen our faith and build up our community. Reading the Bible together can also help us to deepen our understanding of God’s word, as we exchange our insights on the scripture. By reading and discussing Scripture in a group, we admit humbly that we need help from others in understanding the truth of God.

Course Objectives

This course aims at spiritual growth through Bible reading in small groups to help participants to read the Bible every week and experience the Word of God. This session is to help students or 2nd gens grow spiritually by reading and sharing the grace of the Word that they have newly received and realized through Bible reading in small groups. Also, when sharing the grace of the Word after reading for 30 minutes, there is an advantage in sharing abundant grace by others in addition to the Word that one has realized. Above all, you can read the Bible with a comfortable mind and share the grace of the Word with those who have the same spiritual desire, and also share prayer topics with each other and pray together, so you can form a deep spiritual relationship with others. Also, through constant Bible reading in small groups, we want to help each person to obey and experience the Word received every week, and to have personal faith based on the Word.
